Question :
1. Please explain the meaning of Kang Chi and Yen Chi.
2. During ritual of Imlek, is wearing Huang Yi necessary?
3. If parents have not got Huang Yi yet, who should lead the ritual ? Father or Huang Yi ?
4. Is it right to wear Huang Yi during exercise (Lienkung)?
5. As a person who learn Tao, we should stop believing in superstition. However, there is someone who is more senior said that there is Cen Yen for burning paper house during funeral. I think it is not correct. Please explain more on this.
Answer :
1. Kang Chi is a layer of “Chi” which is invisible, covering the body and soul of people who is in certain stage of process of Lian (Siu Lian). On the other hand, Yen Chi is a name of “Chi” that exists since we were born. It has to be built through a special exercise. If Yen Chi is vanished, the person would be unable to live.
2. During ritual of Imlek at home, wearing Huang Yi is not necessary.
3. Person who leads the ritual is “head of family”, normally it is a father.
4. Huang Yi should be used during special rituals only. Wearing Huang Yi is about its restriction. However, what important is the correct meaning and usage of Huang Yi. During Lien Kung, it is not required to wear Huang Yi.
5. It is right that we should stop superstition and change human mind set about it. It still depends on people’s mind set and era. In this case, burning paper house for funeral has no meaning at all.
