Question :
There is a topic which is still a unsolved problem for me. It is about destiny or fate. My question is: is destiny is affected by time? So a person who is destined now might not be in the future (as time goes).
Actually I am disturbed by words from people that when first he / she learned Tao, he / she is destined in Tao. And I think he / she was very fortunate because he improved a lot in his / her learning of Tao. As time went, he / she discredited Tao by spreading bad words about Tao, although in the beginning of learning he / she praised Tao. In this instance, is he / she, who was destined in Tao, now not destined any more? If he / she wasn’t destined, why was there chance for him / she to learn and even obtain Huang Ie and also improved a lot in Tao? I apologize if there is mistake in this question.
Answer :
To unify depends on destiny. To separate also depends on destiny. There is long time destiny, and also short time destiny. There is good destiny, and also bad destiny. A good destiny is like a lovely plant, which is always groomed and watered, so it keeps growing healthily and beautifully. A bad destiny is like wild grass. We have to clear it so it wouldn’t disturb our plant. A person who learns Tao is in the same situation. When there is chance to meet Tao, it is a destiny. However, when he / she leaves Tao, it is an unchanged destiny which is hard to avoid. There must be something which is call the secret of Heaven. It is hard to understand. Therefore, destiny with Tao has to be groomed and took care. To be able to meet Tao in this life is the greatest gift and don’t waste this chance. If we miss the chance, how long will we wait to be able to meet Tao again?
