Whose mistake is it?

In a village, there was a family of two brothers. They lived together in a house with a dog. One day the younger brother wanted to visit a friend. Dressed in white, he left their house. On his way to his friend’s house, the weather changed, it started to rain heavily. Then his clothes were all wet. As he arrived at his friend’s place, he had no choice but to borrow from his friend some clothes to replace his wet ones. They were black ones.
When he was back at home, the dog didn’t recognize him and started to bark. It made him mad and wanted to hit the dog. The elder brother stopped him and said: “If our dog leaves home with white … and comes back with black one, wouldn’t you be confused also?
Dear readers,
Very often we blame others for every thing that makes us unhappy. Although many times root of the problems are ourselves. If we try to be wiser in every thing we do and always self conscious, we could avoid many misunderstandings and problems in our life.

Buying A Pair of Shoes
There was a guy who wanted to buy himself a pair of shoes. He measured the length of his feet with a string. Then he went to a market to buy them and brought along the string. However, due to his negligence, he lost the string which was used to measure his feet. He didn’t know if he lost it somewhere or forgot to bring it.
While choosing for shoes to buy then only he realized the string wasn’t there. Then he told the salesman: “Gosh, I didn’t bring the string which has the length of my feet!” Then he turn and ran back home. His house is quite a distance from that market, so when he came back, the market was empty and the shoe shop was already closed. He grumbled and blamed it to himself.
While grumbling about it, someone heard it over, and then the person asked: “Are you buying shoes for yourself or others?” Hearing the answer was that he was buying them for himself, he laughed and said: “Don’t you bring your feet with you? What do you need a measured string for? Guess what his answer is? He replied: “The string measures more accurate then my feet.”
To solve a problem, it is about to find the root of that problem and change according to the situation. Don’t stick to one point, or you will make mistakes and be a laughingstock.
Very often human is stubborn and unable to accept own weaknesses. So it is hard for him/her to move forward and improve to the right direction.

Separating Mulberry

This is a true story happened many years ago. However, it is still remembered till now.
In that period, situation was uncertain, state was chaotic, and robbery was everywhere, so many civilians found it hard to live, food was a rarity.
There was a family of a mother and a son. The son was only teenager whose name was Chai Sun. One day with a small amount of money from selling woods, young Chai Sun wanted to buy some food back home for meal with his mother. However there was no body selling food, due to uncertainty of the state.
Feeling unrest, then he went home and worried that his mother has nothing to eat at home. As he arrived at home, his mother greeted him. She was making a bit of food from coarse vegetables. He knew that she had not eaten yet, so he pretended as if he was already full. He didn’t want his mother to get starving.
His mother also knew that he must have not eaten yet, so in the end they ate it together.
After meal, Chai Sun wanted to collect some mulberries near a forest for the next day’s meal. Soon his mother prepared him a basket for collecting mulberries. Then he took one more basket and right away went to the forest.
In the forest, he saw trees were bearing fruits. Quickly he collected those fruits and separated into two baskets. One basket is for fruits that are still yellowish green. The other basket is for ripe mulberries which color is bluish red.
After getting enough mulberries, he went home. However, on an empty street, two robbers stopped him. This made him very frightened. The robbers wanted to took his baskets away. As they looked at them, they found nothing but only mulberries; and also he is only a poor kid wearing worn out clothes. So the robbers asked him: “what are these mulberries for? And why did you separate them into two baskets like this?” shakily he replied: “The mulberries are meals for me and my mother. This basket contains ripe and sweet ones. I will give them to my mother because I am worried she would have stomachache if she eats sour ones. The other basket has unripe ones. They are for me because I am still young and stronger than my mother.” Hearing the answer, the two robbers felt touched and ashamed, so they let the boy to go. Even they gave him slices of meat.
This story is still remembered till now because it is valuable to be remembered. Chai Sun’s filial act has saved his life and also touched two robbers who almost endanger him.
To be filial to parents is the greatest morality human being should have. It is a basic morality a person should act. Without it, life would be no meaning. Being a filial child is essence of all kind of human’s morality.

Do not Damage The Tiger’s Skin
There is a family of a father and a son, living in a village by a forest. One day while searching for woods in the forest, the father was suddenly attacked by a tiger and he was pulled in to the jungle. Once his son knew the incident, he immediately came to help and carried with him a knife. The son chased that tiger and with a knife in his hand, ready to kill it for saving his father’s live. As he was getting closer and ready to stab his knife to kill the tiger, suddenly his father, while still bitten, screamed to him “My son, my son, if you want to stab it, stab it at its legs only. Don’t damage its skin, so that we can sell it at a better price.”
As live is in danger, his mind is on material goods. In our society, many people are like this. They only think of their wealth without considering other things, even their own lives. Greed is poisoning human’s heart, killing human’s spirit. Material goods are, in fact, important, however do not become greedy and get controlled by them. If greed is controlling human’s live, they will live with no heart. All the things they do are to fulfill their hunger. In the end, their greed will destroy themselves. Sprit to strive has to be directed into a right way. So it would not damage ourselves.

Words and Conducts are the self’s reflected mirror.

A person who is XiuDao (Tao practitioner), that the main point is to revise the physic of the body and the mental, and find the way to communicate with gods, so in one’s progress, there is a standard that can be obviously seen, whether that person has some improvement in his/hers XiuDao process. That is from someone’s words of saying and conducts in daily life.

The words of saying and conducts are the reflected mirror of someone. From someone’s words and conducts, we could judge how high the morality of that person is.

There are certain people, their words is like sewage water that will spread stinky smell towards surrounding people, always making troubles and hurting surrounding people. Such a person, how would his level of Dao high?
This kind of person, his words cause a dissension, oppose someone against someone, heat up the situations, sharpen the problem, causing chaos.

As a XiuDao person, who gives the highest priority to the morality, he should say words which could bring coolness and fragrance for the surrounding.
A person whose level of Dao is high, their words should give peace, give solution to the existing problem. His words could comfort the inner self, gives broader point of view, makes everybody could feel his high morality.

The conduct of a XiuDao person should appropriate to his inner self.
What is in the inside should appropriate to what is being said and also what is being done.
So it shows the nobility and high morality.

So, his life becomes meaningful towards other people, his family and his surrounding society.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we are willing to be more modest
The modesty would make us easier to absorb the knowledge broader and deeper. It also makes us to be more able to accept the condition that happened in our surrounding neighborhood and it would make us more relieve, so that we could be able to see a problem clearer.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we could be more diligent.
The diligence would activate us to do many things that we have to do.
The diligence would not make us easy to lose hope when we have not succeeded in reaching something from our practice.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we are more thorough.
The thoroughness would make us be able to see the small things which have been neglected by others.
The thoroughness would facilitate us in finding the answers from the all the happening which are difficult to understand by others.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we have a firmness heart.
The firmness heart would not make us shaken by other theory.
The firmness heart would not make us too much demanding, however, it would make us endure something wholeheartedly.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we have a merciful heart.
The merciful heart would not make us giving top priority to our own importance.
The merciful heart would make us willing in helping others.
The merciful heart would make our life useful for other human being.

Xiu Dao would be easier if we can always use our reasoning power (Wu).
So we can analyze all the things correctly, and we can draw a conclusion precisely.

The Crimson Dusk
The humans’ life is like the passing time, like the sun’s cycle, so we ought to learn from nature’s phenomenon in order to get the wisdom in going through the life itself.

A new born human beings, is like the morning of beginning of the day, the sunlight that is start shining, as a new born baby, entering the world with lots of hopes, but does not know whether it is going to be a rainy day or a sunny day.
A new born human beings, is like a white piece of paper which is still blank, not having any strokes on it, and it is very determined by what will be written on that white piece of paper.
So it has to be taken good care of, and be prepared wisely in order to be written later with good deeds, honesty and everything that is good.

A day will start changing from morning to noon, the sun starts shining brightly, this shows that human being who is in their youth, they have to struggle with perseverance, as strong as the light of that sun.
Struggling to fill his life, struggle for preparing his foothold in life, struggle to reach his aims.
During this period, make sure not to determine wrongly about the principal that should be fought, and not to fall into the mud hole of life.
Fill this period with some knowledge which is much needed, consolidate the religion knowledge which will be the life barometer, revise the physical and the way of thinking towards the perfection.
Approaching the mid day, as if the mature period in human life, in this middle age, life should be stable, the carrier, the knowledge, the religion and all other aspects should be mature as well.
In this period, don’t feel satisfied easily, if we do so, then we will move backwards, it should be filled with social activities, try to think about others, start to fill our life with as much as possible about the philosophy of life, start to find the meaning of life, start to be stable in the religion.
A lot of impacts were experienced until this age; those are the life experience which should be considered as a precious teacher.
Through the life experiences we will truly understand the meaning of life itself.

After the mid day, comes the dusk. The sun starts to overcast; the crimson dusk is still shining. So does the human life, entering the old age, even though the physical abilities are decreasing, however the spirit of life and ray of good deeds should look like the shinning crimson dusk.
In this period, someone has to be able to gush out the wisdom, to give comfort, to show his soul maturity.
With the life experience, with the knowledge ability, with the maturity in religion, someone should always be able to act wisely, not vacillate easily, could adapt better, and always spray the good deeds.
If not, then he will be expelled in this life. When someone is not wise enough in their old age, has difficulty in adapting himself, still has a high egoism, then he will be isolated, will be lonely, his life won’t be happy.
This is the period to prepare in entering the end of life, when the meaning of life is understood, when the level of Dao has already stabled, when the life is full with happiness, then entering that period will be done with a peaceful mind.
Just like changing clothes, like moving to other place, with a stable heart, with the perfect Dao’s fruit, in becoming the gods/goddess. All of those are according to power of nature, according to the Dao.

Every one is longing for living wealthy and rich, and being avoided from poverty, this is something natural.
According to me there are several kinds of richness; rich in wealth, rich in knowledge, rich in moral (inner self), so is the poverty that is poor in wealth, poor in knowledge, poor in moral.

In wealth matter, it can be gotten by diligently work, thrifty, diligently saving money, beside that, certainly it depends on someone’s own destiny.
However, wealth is not something that determines one’s happiness.
Someone who is wealthy is not definitely live happily.
It could be that he got many illnesses, his family is shattered, living in loneliness, having many enemies so that always worrying, feeling that life is empty.
When the condition is like that, what is the use of the wealth?

In knowledge matter, it can be obtained through a formal education or a non-formal one, which then this knowledge will support someone to reach success in one’s life. However, still many people who have a lot of knowledge are not success in their life, they always feel lack of something due to living in materialistic way, feel empty and confuse with their own purpose of life.

A human being should have a “rich inner self” (morality), so that with this “rich inner self” he/she is really able to go through his/her life happily.
They will not stick to the wealth and not emphasizing on the wealth matter, so even though their wealth is in average, they still could live in peacefully and happily.
A rich inner self causes someone to be able to accept the condition as what it is and not too forcing their own will, so that one could live in peacefully in society.
One who has high morality could use his/her knowledge for many people’s needs, and with his/her knowledge someone could serve more towards humanity.

Tao religion emphasizes their followers to increase their morality, trying to get knowledge as much as possible and live honestly, thrifty, and keen on the efforts. Through the understanding of the philosophy, also through a close observation towards the personal quality of the Tao followers, one should always trying to upgrade all the capabilities there are. The higher his/her level of Xiu Dao the higher someone’s morality.
So, only those who wholeheartedly Xiu Dao will get the 3 richness, which are rich in wealth, rich in knowledge, and the most important is rich in inner self (morality).

In a conversation with one of his disciples, MengTze said:
“On the hills, there is a narrow path, whenever it is passed by human, then that path way will be getting wider, however, if it has never been passed by human, so in a short while that path way will disappear, due to the growth of wild grass and coarse grass.”

So is in human’s living, the morality of the human is just like that narrow path way. Every moment, we always have to walk through it, always revising it, always developing it, because if we are not being aware, if we are not paying attention to its implementation in our life, so we will soon being covered with narrow mindedness, covered by greediness, covered by hypocrisy, covered with depravity morals which will sink our good deeds, closing our eye of the inner self.

A good morality can not be obtained by only sitting quietly, can not be achieved by knowing which is good and which is bad. More over, it can not be achieved just by thinking of it.

A good morality is like a path way that we have to go through everyday, so that we will make it always being taken care of, the longer the time the wider it would be and it would settle in our inner self, becoming the path of life which is deeply planted, becoming a good deeds that flows naturally and as clear as the water in the river which is giving life for its surrounding.

Xiu Dao (Tao practitioners) people have to make morality as the core of self revision.

Revising the moral has to be through implementing it into our daily life, bits by bits, through efforts not tiredly, through spiritual processing, through close observation on oneself, through understanding about the natural truth, through the guidance of the way of life of the universe (Dao)

There was a boat which is sailing in the middle of a very wide river, the boat carried a few passengers and of course one of them is the ship’s captain.

All passengers were sleeping, suddenly came very big wind which blew the boat, the river’s waves kept rolling in, and the boat was adrift and buffeted following the rolls of the wave.

The captain was trying to control the steering wheel so that the boat would not be sunk.
All of the passengers were panic and prepared to face up against all the possibilities.
A while later, the wind was subsides, the waves became smaller, but the boat has already leaked in many places.
Then the captain was forced to ask all passengers to jump into the water and swam towards the river-bank to save their own life.
So, the passenger jumped into the water and swam with all their power to save their own life.
When most of them had reached the river-bank, there was someone still in the middle of the river, and apparently he was burdened with a bag of gold plates which was very heavy. The others shouted and told him to throw away the gold he carried, in order to save his life.
However, he didn’t want to be separated with his wealth, and at the end he sank with his gold.

A lot of people emphasizes in materials, so that they often neglect the morality side, even their own lives will not be held anymore.
People who are Xiu Dao should be able to harmonize their living, should able to control their wealth and not being controlled by the wealth People who are Xiu Dao should be able to love their life’s , because by doing so it will get the chances and the time which is longer for revising themselves.
Wealth is an accessory to our life, however, it does not mean everything.

We ought to get wealth by the right way and able to enjoy it in a good way, and uses their wealth for the useful deeds for humanity.
If only by working hard to get wealth, what is the point?
Just being embraced with the greed of wealth, the inner self will be covered with greediness.

Only with the right understanding toward the meaning of life, only with the inner self that is full of values of the truth, human being will able to live without being embraced with the greediness of the wealth.
Only by doing so, human will live more meaningful, and find the eternity of happiness.
